Leyendo el blog de ubuntulife me agrado esta entrada bueno tambien de donde lo lei lo transcribieron pero pues yo tambien lo transcribo aqui para que todos(si malo eres casi el unico que lo lee) lo que leen este blog se pongan a pensar un poco mas los debianeros bueno aqui les dejo esta entrada

Este post es otro de muchos que hablan acerca de Ubuntu. Tal vez no sea el mas indicado para hablar pero puedo dar mi opinión. Oficialmente entré al mundo Linux el mismo día que salió Ubuntu 8.04, lo se, a cualquiera le debo parecer un usuario muy nuevo pero desde hace tiempo que vengo metiéndome en el tema, y si no tenía Linux instalado era por un problema con mi monitor.

Siempre me interesaron las opiniones de la gente, y el software libre genera cantidades de debates pero uno de los más relevantes y controvertidos es acerca de una distribución basada en Debian y que es muy joven respecto a las demás: Ubuntu.

¿Como empezó Ubuntu?
Un empresario llamado Mark Shuttleworth, vendió su empresa antes de que reventara la ‘burbuja.com’ por una suma de dinero considerable que luego usó para:
-Ser un turista espacial.
-Fundar una nueva empresa que desarrollaría un nuevo sistema operativo.
Finalmente fundo Canonical Ltd. y empezaron a desarrollar el sistema operativo (en ese momento sin nombre) libre, al alcance de todos, derivado de Debian y todo ese rollo que se lo saben de memoria.
Un tiempo después se lanza la primera versión (ya llamada Ubuntu 4.10) con su servicio de ‘llevarte los CDs gratis a casa sin costo alguno’ y se iría actualizando cada 6 meses con una nueva versión.
¿Hasta acá todo normal no? NO! En ese momento Ubuntu no era muy conocida pero con el tiempo fue creciendo y empezó a tener una gran comunidad (compuesta en gran parte por usuarios nuevos en el mundo Linux).

Ubuntu empieza a ser mal vista:
Entonces Ubuntu trae usuarios nuevos al mundo Linux, que empiezan a relacionarse con usuarios más avanzados, los usuarios avanzados se sienten superiores y les molesta que gente que sepa ‘tan poco’ pueda usar Linux y lograr las mismas cosas que ellos. Ahí empiezan los ‘Debianitas’ a hablar mal de Ubuntu y de sus usuarios ‘tontos’.
También se empieza a hablar de que Ubuntu es inestable comparado con Debian, por que quiere hacer las cosas mas fáciles a sus usuarios comprometiendo la estabilidad del sistema.
Muchos se quejaron de sus ciclo de actualización de 6 meses, que era muy seguido.
A otros les molestaba que incluya paquetes privativos.
Comenzaron a decir que Ubuntu estaba sobrevalorada y que su gran comunidad era debido solo a los CDs gratis.
Se quejan de que Ubuntu es desarrollado por una empresa privada.

Es imposible dejar a todos conformes:
La única forma de que Linux tenga mas usuarios era haciendo migrar a usuarios nuevos, después de todo que haya más usuarios no trae ninguna desventaja.
Será menos estable que Debian pero es la única forma de hacer un sistema operativo más actualizado y agradable para el usuario.
El ciclo de 6 meses es perfecto para los que están desconformes con las irregulares actualizaciones de Debian.
Los paquetes privativos no son de instalación obligatoria.

¿En que molestan los usuarios nuevos a los linuxeros?
Muchos se quejan de que Ubuntu trae usuarios que quieren todo fácil, que confunden Ubuntu con Linux, que piensan que están usando Debian, que no distinguen entre paquetes privativos y libres, que dicen cosas sin sentido, que ponen comandos en terminal sin saber que hacen, etc, etc, etc.
Tal vez sean pesados, pero TU elijes ayudarlos, escucharlos y responderles.
Si creen que saben tanto como tu por saber instalar Ubuntu a quien le importa! Nadie tiene que demostrar nada. ¿Te molesta que no les importe usar paquetes privativos? Al menos no usan Windows o software pirata no?
No se puede pretender que todo usuario de una PC sea avanzado. Siempre algunos van a saber más y otros menos, y otros todavía menos que menos.

El ciclo infinito del ‘Lado Oscuro de Ubuntu’:
Parece que todo el mundo ahora le tiene miedo/odio/desconfianza a las empresas (gracias Microsoft!), entonces todo el mundo sale a hablar mal, por ejemplo, de Google y hasta de Canonical.
Ahí empiezan los comentarios especulativos como ‘A Canonical solo le importa ganar dinero, en un futuro cercano es probable que ya no le importemos y empiece a ser igualita a Microsoft’, comentario totalmente ridículo por que hasta ahora la empresa de Mark solo ha registrado perdidas, y buscan ser auto-rentables pero es no significa que quieran solo ganar dinero. Además quedaría muy hipócrita un sistema operativo privativo estilo Windows con el nombre ‘Ubuntu’ y ni hablemos de que dejarían de usarlo miles (o en ese momento millones ;) ) de usuarios.
Aclarado el punto anterior, sale un empleado de Mandriva dando una opinion personal sobre Canonical y utiliza los datos de las pérdidas de la empresa desarrolladora de Ubuntu para decir que son competencia desleal y que hay algo turbio en la cantidad de gastos que tiene Canonical.
Entonces se vuelve a explicar que el señor Shuttleworth esta pagando los gastos por ahora hasta que Canonical se haga auto-rentable ¿Como? Brindando soporte a grandes empresas y ofreciendo algunos productos privativos con costo adicional. Ahí es cuando saltan otra vez a decir que Ubuntu se transformará en un Windows y que cada vez venderá más software privativo y aportará menos al soft libre, que solo le importa el dinero, etc. Entonces recordamos las perdidas de Canonical y salta ‘otro’ a decir que hay algo raro en esos gastos sin rentabilidad. ¿Es o no es un bucle infinito?

Entonces ¿Ubuntu es buena o mala?
Por ahora le facilita las cosas a muchos usuarios nuevos, ayuda a (y desarrolla) muchos proyectos con su Launchpad, hace que Linux crezca en usuarios (y al ser más nos toman más en cuenta). ¿Alguien alguna vez mencionó que Canonical vende en su sitio varias cosas recicladas?
Yo creo que es buena de facto. Canonical no puede de la nada transformarse en una ‘Microsoft’ por que (casi) todos sus usuarios migrarían a otras distros como Fedora o Mandriva.

Conclusión:
Cada uno es libre de usar la distro que quiere pero no es bueno hacer mala fama a otras gratuitamente. Puedes tener tus razones para no usar Ubuntu y seguro son validas, pero eso no significa que valgan para todo el mundo.
